These steps will include choosing a Linux distribution (for example, Ubuntu). To enable and install WSL 2, follow the steps in the WSL install documentation. WSL 2 is the most recent version available for Windows and we recommend it for professional Node.js development workflows. This recommendation also applies if you plan to use a Windows Server production environment.
